Bleizo-West concerns the still undeveloped area on both sides of the A12 motorway, near the Lansingerland-Zoetermeer train station. There are plans here to build 4,000 to 6,000 homes with a green appearance, combined with the arrival of businesses and facilities. Innovation and knowledge development are central to the adjacent Horti Science glasshouse area in Lansingerland and the adjacent Dutch Innovation Park. Alderman Iedema: 'The arrival of PROEFtuin Bleizo creates a natural connection and a great opportunity for joint growth. In short: an attractive mix between living, working and facilities.
Moreover, the plan increases the opportunities for the so-called ZoRo line (RandstadRail connection between Zoetermeer and Rotterdam).
Housing offer
The amount of housing in the plan, makes a nice contribution to reducing the housing shortage in the region. Furthermore, 50% of the housing supply consists of affordable rental and for-sale housing and 50% more expensive housing.
How to proceed in 2022?
In provincial policy, the Bleizo-West site is currently zoned for businesses. Also, the province and municipality of Lansingerland are in talks with each other about previous agreements for realizing wind energy.
On Feb. 2, 2022, it was decided that the province will make agreements with the municipalities of Lansingerland and Zoetermeer to reach a joint solution for the Bleizo-West site.
