Report fraud, suspicion

Fraud is the conscious and intentional giving of incorrect or incomplete information. For example, fraud occurs when:

In case of benefit fraud

• Someone does not declare income from work or assets, or only declares it in part.
• Someone does not report that he/she is living with someone or that there has been a change in the family composition (for example, divorce or cohabitation).
• Someone gives a false (postal) address where he/she does not actually live.

In case of healthcare fraud

• Personal budget is used incorrectly (deliberately sending incorrect invoices for, for example, care that was not provided).
• Incorrect use of Wmo facilities (for example a mobility scooter, regional taxi, disabled parking card).
• Healthcare providers who provide no or insufficient care (partner, family member or institution).

In case of housing fraud

• Illegal subletting / subletting / room rental.
• Unlawful use of a home.
• Overcrowding (too many people living in a house).
• Using a rental property as a business premises or storage space.
• Misuse of a home for cannabis cultivation or prostitution.
• Failure to register or incorrect registration in the BRP in order to commit fraud.

Good landlord reporting point

We are working with the other municipalities within The Hague region to set up a local and regional reporting centre. Until then, the reporting centre has been incorporated into the approach to housing fraud in general.
