Successful Lustrum celebration of residents' group 'Ambachtsheerlijkheid'

Leading up to the Lustrum celebration, about 7 members of the City Council and our mayor visited the 5-year-old "Craft Lordship. These were hosted by a number of volunteers. Christine (volunteer) gave a bird's-eye view of the history of the neighborhood garden and the activities developed thereafter.

Saturday, July 12, the big party took place. In a cozy atmosphere the talented singer Tobias de Jong performed with his guitar and beautiful voice. He treated our volunteers and residents with beautiful recognizable music, some songs were listened to breathlessly and others were enthusiastically sung along. Delicious snacks, made by residents themselves, were served and in the meantime the local residents were able to catch up or get to know each other in a casual setting. At the end of the performance, the residents ate home-made fried rice with BBQ. There were about 70 visitors this afternoon.

We look back on a very successful gathering and look ahead to a fine continued contact with each other in the neighborhood. Our thanks go to the efforts of all the volunteers and sponsors who made the celebration possible.
