Free garden advice from a Garden Ranger in your area

Good news for everyone who wants to get started with the garden. As a resident of Zoetermeer, you can register for free garden advice from 22 May, the Day of Biodiversity, via: tuinrangers.nl/tuinadvies . A Garden Ranger will then contact you to make an appointment at your home. Whether you have a small city garden, roof garden or a spacious backyard - every piece of garden is suitable for greening.

There are more and more wet periods and hot and dry summers. For animals that suffer from this, a garden with lots of nature is part of the solution. And nature-friendly gardening is surprisingly easy. The Zoetermeer Garden Rangers will help you on your way and give you tips to get started yourself. Alderman Marijke van der Meer met a number of Zoetermeer Garden Rangers in the Experience Garden of the Balijhoeve. Here she spoke with volunteers about the importance of greening Zoetermeer and thanked them for their already valuable efforts for the city.

A few simple changes in your garden can make a huge difference. You will receive practical tips on greening, water collection, removing tiles, planting plants, and promoting animal life in the garden. The goal: working together to ensure more biodiversity and less water nuisance during heavy rain. And of course a pleasant garden where you like to spend time and perhaps see butterflies and birds. The Garden Rangers take your wishes and possibilities into account: tailor-made garden advice.

Expert volunteers

The Garden Rangers are volunteers with a passion for the garden and a heart for nature and are trained as true experts. Together with you, they want to make Zoetermeer more nature and water-friendly through the gardens. The Garden Rangers project is an initiative of Stichting Steenbreek and IVN Natuureducatie and is financed by the municipality of Zoetermeer.
