Rental assistance

To receive rental assistance, you, your supplementary partner (if any), and co-occupants must meet the following conditions:

You are 18 years of age or older.
You and the landlord signed a lease.
You rent independent living space.
You pay the rent.
You, your supplementary partner (if any), and co-residents are registered with the municipality at your residential address.
You, your supplementary partner (if any), and co-residents have Dutch nationality or a valid residence permit.
Your rent, (joint) income and assets are not too high. These rates are adjusted annually and can be viewed on the Tax Office website.

Apply for rent allowance

You must file an application for rent allowance with the Belastingdienst.
