Zoetermeer has enforcement officers who focus specifically on the youth in the city. We call these youth boas. By making and maintaining contact with (groups of) youth, they try to prevent problems. If necessary, they intervene. They regularly visit hangouts, meeting points and/or places where nuisance occurs. The youth boas work together with other organizations in the city, such as the police and youth and family care.

Youth boas know what is going on among the youth. As a result, they can involve other organisations if necessary, for example in the field of care. Together with these organisations, a plan of action is then drawn up.

The municipality has set up places in Zoetermeer where young people can come together. So-called youth meeting places (JOPs). These places often have a steel house, containers or benches with a roof.
