The Land Registry collects data on ownership of land, houses, businesses, factories, ships and aircraft.

At the Land Registry, for example, you can request information on:

  • Who owns a house, business or piece of land.
  • Purchase and sale prices of houses.
  • Where and what cables and/or pipes are underground.
  • Exactly where a house, business or piece of land is located and its dimensions (property boundaries).
  • What you can and cannot put down on a piece of land.
  • What may not be done to a house, business or piece of land as a result of a government decision (for example, whether a house is a monument).

You can request most information for free. Some specific information requires you to pay a small fee.
