Apprenticeship voucher

For young people under 27 with little or no work experience, it is sometimes difficult to find paid work or an internship. The free Apprenticeship Voucher can provide a solution.

With an Apprenticeship Voucher, a young person who does an apprenticeship with a company for 5 to 10 months receives compensation for the work done. The employer receives a subsidy for this from the municipality.

Who are eligible?
  • All young people from Zoetermeer aged 18 to 27. From youth without diplomas to youth with a HBO/WO diploma (exception: students with HAVO/VWO diploma).
  • Pupils and/or school leavers from practical education and secondary special education (16 years and older) who have not yet found an internship placement.
  • Students from ROC (16 years and older) who have not yet been able to find a Vocational Guided Learning (BBL) program.
  • Young people who are not entitled to benefits or are receiving benefits and no longer need to apply for welfare because of the Apprenticeship Voucher.
Terms
  • The young person himself must find a company where the internship can be done. This can also be a company outside Zoetermeer.
  • The employer with whom the internship is done applies for the Apprenticeship Voucher.
  • The application form is requested by the employer from the Werkgevers Servicepunt Zuid-Holland Centraal.
  • Has the employer applied for the Apprenticeship Voucher? Then the young person and the employer enter into an apprenticeship contract.
Fees

Youth reimbursement

  • Young people aged 16-17 years receive an allowance of €400 net per month including vacation pay and based on 32 hours per week during the employer's agreement.
  • Young people aged 18-27 receive €600 net per month including vacation pay based on 32 hours per week.

Compensation for entrepreneurs

As an employer, you get:

  • for young people aged 16-17 a subsidy of €400 net per month based on 32 hours per week
  • for young people aged 18-27, a subsidy of €600 net per month based on a 32-hour per week

The grant is transferred to the entrepreneur, the entrepreneur then pays out to the apprentice/young person. You can add a co-payment on top of the subsidy to increase the student/young person's salary or to reimburse travel expenses.

As an employer, you are required to pay the premiums. You may not pay this from the subsidy funds. This also applies to any insurance/accidents.
