Benefit and finding work

The municipality first wants to tap into your own strengths, talents and abilities. If you have benefits, the emphasis is therefore on finding paid work and, if nothing else, suitable work or working while retaining your benefits. This is better for you and for society. Your work director at De Binnenbaan helps you look for suitable work and can initiate various pathways for you.

Apply

If you are able to work and can be expected to find work on your own, you must actively apply for a job. Your work director will support you in this if necessary.

Reintegration Project

Sometimes work is still a step too far, for example because you have not worked for a long time or because you are (partially) disabled. Then your work director will see if you can do a reintegration program into work. Such a program will increase your chances in the labor market. This means, for example, that you participate in a job application training program or start working with benefit payments.

If you have an employment disability

If you have a disability, your work director can help you by, for example, organizing a workplace modification or a coach. Sometimes a subsidy for the employer is also possible so they can hire you more easily.

Volunteer

Volunteering can be part of a reintegration program. It can make finding paid work easier and, moreover, it allows you to give something back to society.

Of course, your volunteer work should not interfere with opportunities for paid work. You should be left with enough time and energy to find paid employment. For job opportunities, visit www.zoetermeervoorelkaar.nl.

Training

Training can also be part of your reintegration program. Together with your work director, you will see if training will make it easier for you to get to work.

If you want to take training on your own initiative, you must consult with your work director. The training should not prevent you from seeking gainful employment.
