Zoetermeer in 1 Day Clean: together for a city without litter

On Friday, October 10, 2025, something special is happening in our city: the very first edition of Zoetermeer in 1 Day Clean. With more than 2,000 expected participants, this will be the largest clean-up action ever in Zoetermeer. Schools, companies, volunteers, municipality employees and local residents will go into the neighborhood together with grabbers, garbage bags and, above all, a large dose of enthusiasm. The common goal? A city that is cleaner than ever before.

Together we make a difference

Each group of participants is assigned a piece of Zoetermeer to clean. This can be a street, square or piece of green, often close to their own location. You choose the time on October 10 when you get to work - the action ends at 18:00.

Well arranged and free of charge

Participating costs, besides time, nothing. All necessary materials - grabbers, safety jackets, gloves and trash bags - are delivered to you in advance and picked up after the event. There is also a clear instructional video so you know exactly what to do. This makes participation easy and approachable for young and old alike.

Festive start with familiar faces

The day starts at 9:00 am with a festive kick-off at a school in Zoetermeer, to be followed live via www.in1dagschoon.nl/zoetermeer. Familiar faces like Quinn & Aaron, Tijmen Sissing (Trashpacker) and Nico with his Kliko will kick off the day. Their presence makes it extra fun and inspiring.

Cleaning up with impact

Through the Rubbiz app, you register your efforts. For every photo of litter that is cleaned up, a donation goes to a charity of your choice, such as a school or the Plastic Soup Foundation. This way everyone contributes twice: to a cleaner Zoetermeer and to social initiatives.
