Closures Zuidweg railroad crossing Zoetermeer-Oost Station
Between January 12 and February 19, the traffic lights at two intersections on Zuidweg will be replaced. During the work, the railroad crossing at Zoetermeer-Oost Station will be closed for two weeks. Please allow for extra travel time.

From January 12 to January 29, work will be carried out at the intersection of Zuidweg with the Moeder Teresasingel. All traffic lights at the intersection will be turned off. Traveling from the Moeder Teresasingel to Zuidweg is not possible to all traffic. Traffic will be diverted via Madame Curiesingel and Mahatma Gandhisingel.
Zoetermeer-Oost Station
Between February 2 and February 19, the traffic lights at Zoetermeer-Oost Station will be replaced. The railroad crossing will be closed to all car traffic. If you want to cross the A12 by car, you can only do so via Afrikaweg or Oostweg.
All traffic lights at the intersection will be turned off during the work. The crosswalk across Zuidweg the station will therefore also be closed. Pedestrians and cyclists can use the Wethouder Jennétunnel to Eerste Stationsstraat the station and Eerste Stationsstraat . The bus stops at the station will remain accessible via the tunnel from Rokkeveen and the village. The station and car park will only be accessible to cars from the village.
Reason for replacement
The traffic lights are at the end of their service life and will be replaced by smart traffic lights. The new lights will enable communication with cars in the future, allowing for better and smarter traffic management.
