Business Investment Zone (BIZ).

Together with other entrepreneurs, you can set up a Business Investment Zone (BIZ). A BIZ is a defined area on a business park or in a shopping area. Together, you invest in an attractive and safe business environment.

Once the BIZ is established, business owners in that zone pay a levy to the municipality. The municipality gives the proceeds as a subsidy to the BIZ association or BIZ foundation that carries out the activities. All entrepreneurs in the BIZ must pay the BIZ levy.

How does it work?

The grant that the municipality gives to the BIZ association or foundation is for additional activities that the municipality does not carry out itself. For example:

  • improving traffic facilities
  • signage
  • green space
  • waste collection
  • cleaning
  • maintenance
  • additional monitoring
  • lighting
  • fences
  • camera surveillance
Costs

The BIZ assessment is imposed on the owners and users of real estate that is not primarily used for housing. Are you an owner and user? Then you will receive 2 assessments.

Owners

The amount of the contribution for the owner depends on the WOZ value. The rate of the BIZ contribution is 0.25% of the WOZ value with a minimum of € 250 and a maximum of € 1,500.

Users

The rate for the BIZ contribution is a fixed amount of € 400 for the core shopping area (area A) and € 150 for the entrance areas (area B).
