Liberation Festival Zoetermeer 2025
On Monday, May 5, Zoetermeer will celebrate 80 years of freedom with a festive and meaningful edition of the 25th Liberation Festival. This year the event will take place at a new location: on the Van der Hagenstraat, next to swimming pool De Watergeus, on the former DSO site. A day full of music, meetings and activities for all ages is scheduled.
The festival grounds will open at 1:30 p.m. At 1:50 p.m., the Freedom Fire will be lit in the presence of Mayor Michel Bezuijen, the Children's Mayor and the Children's Ambassador for Freedom. This symbolic moment marks the official beginning of the festival and underlines the importance of freedom and connection.
Especially for children
Until 3:30 p.m., the program focuses mainly on families. Children can have fun at the main stage with the children's DJ, enjoy a cheerful performance by Gnome Plop and participate in a variety of activities at the Children's Free Land.
Afternoon and evening program
Starting at 3:30 p.m., the afternoon/evening program bursts into life with performances by local and nationally known DJs and artists spread across 2 stages. The music and festive atmosphere will continue until 11:15 pm. In addition to music and children's activities, there will be a free market and various food trucks and eateries on the festival grounds.
Accessibility
Due to expected crowds, visitors are advised to arrive on time and use bicycles or public transportation (RandstadRail station Van Tuyllpark). A special MIVA platform is available for disabled visitors. Registration for this can be done no later than 3 days in advance via bevrijdingsfestivalzoetermeer.nl.
