Visit to Nutricia museum
Wednesday, March 5, Alderman Blansjaar and Alderman Velzen visited the Nutricia Museum. They were accompanied by the Dorp neighborhood director, arts and culture staff, the Architecture Point and the Historical Society of Old Soetermeer.
The Nutricia factory has been a household name in Zoetermeer for years. What many people do not realize is that the factory, like our city, has gone through a gigantic development. The days of chocolate milk are behind them. Now high-quality nutritional products are made for cancer patients, for example, or children with stomach problems such as Emma. All employees therefore had to pass an "entrance exam" to be allowed inside. This is exactly the challenge that the group discussed with each other; 'how do we make the Nutricia/Danone story more accessible to city residents?'
Some former Nutricia employees take care of the "indoor" museum on a weekly basis and showed the group around. Earlier, they gave a photograph on loan to the municipality. This can be admired, how could it be otherwise, in the Nutricia meeting room on the third floor of the city office.
