Fire Bleiswijkseweg
Around 4 this morning, the fire department was alerted to a large fire at a junkyard on the Bleiswijkseweg in Zoetermeer. The fire caused a lot of smoke in the surrounding area. An NL-Alert was therefore sent to the immediate area advising people to close windows and doors and turn off mechanical ventilation. Around 5:45 a.m. the fire was under control. The fire department is currently working on post-fire extinguishing.
Because car tires and PVC are involved in the fire, there are (possibly oily) particles in the smoke that may be deposited. If you find deposition (soot particles coming down from the air in an area), for example on cars and garden furniture, it is advisable to clean it with soap and water. When doing so, wear gloves and do not touch the deposition with bare skin. Be extra vigilant that small children do not get the deposition in their mouths through hands.
