Mayor visits De Leyens on Sunday, Aug. 31
On Sunday, August 31, Mayor Michel Bezuijen will visit De Leyens. He will become acquainted with various resident initiatives and enter into conversation with neighborhood residents. The visit starts at the Saloméschouw, where the mayor will speak with residents' group Sarabande. Together with the municipality, this group has been organizing activities for the elderly for a year and a half.
This is followed by a visit to community garden De Zoete Aarde on the Broekweg side. Here the mayor will meet the founders and volunteers of this civic initiative, which has now been in existence for 10 years and has over 100 volunteers.
Between 16:00 and 17:00, the mayor will visit the neighborhood party in shopping center De Leyens. Thanks to cooperation between shopkeepers, regular activities have been organized here for the neighborhood since 2 years. From Easter party to Sinterklaas party and also at Christmas the decorations hang outside. It is a nice shopping center for young and old!
