Neighbors apply first colors at Hole in the Marketplace

Saturday, June 15, during Architecture Day, Harm van der Werf and a group of residents painted the first murals at "Hole in the Market.

After several design sessions, it was time for the real thing. All the 'artists' drew inspiration in their own way. For example, Peter took nature photos along the ring canal of the Zoetermeer Meerpolder. What he experienced there now gets a place on the side wall of the hole.

In the coming weeks, the creative people will still be at work. First with the walls and later the ground paintings. "That is still quite a quest," Harm said. "With the municipal area managers, we are looking at which ground paint is suitable and how it can be easily kept clean later. This is going in good consultation; we are now practicing with test sections."
