Camera surveillance shopping center De Leyens
The municipality will put up surveillance cameras in the first half of July to stop youth nuisance in shopping center De Leyens.
Neighbors and shopkeepers have been experiencing nuisance from youths for some time, such as racing scooters and fatbikes, leaving garbage behind, abusing the elevators to the RandstadRail stop, and intimidating behavior toward residents, shopkeepers, and visitors to the mall. The police and the municipality are working intensively together to stop the nuisance and are conducting increased surveillance.
Camera surveillance
The surveillance cameras are in (live) connection with the police control room. Only the police can read the images. The cameras are not directed at facades of residential houses. The camera surveillance is set until September 30, 2024. In September, the camera surveillance will be evaluated and it will be assessed whether the camera surveillance should be extended.
