Chapeau statuette for couple Neijssel
For conceiving and founding the Maja Anjo House - a drop-in center for people with cancer or people who have had cancer - the Neijssel couple received a Chapeau statuette. The statuette was presented Wednesday, Sept. 25, by Mayor Michel Bezuijen.
Maja and Henk Neijssel founded the Maja Anjo House in November 2022. The idea for this arose when Mrs. Neijssel herself became ill. In Zoetermeer, there was not yet an opportunity for (former) cancer patients to meet and share experiences. With her husband Henk at her side, she therefore started the Kankerpatiënten Inloophuis Zoetermeer.
Since then, the open house has taken the form of a foundation named Maja Anjo House. Maja and Henk are the hostess and host of the open house. At the Nathaliegang 79 in the building of InZet in Zoetermeer they organize, together with many volunteers, creative workshops, informative meetings and walk-in mornings for fellow sufferers.
About the Chapeau statuette
