Covenant with national parties helps sports providers in Zoetermeer
The municipality of Zoetermeer wants to further expand support to sports providers in Zoetermeer. This can be done by further strengthening the cooperation between national and local (sports) parties. This is why on October 11, 2024, alderman Ronald Weerwag (sports), together with representatives of NOC*NSF, Rabobank, the KNVB, Platform ondernemende Sportaanbieders (POS) and the KNGU, officially signed the covenant for the sports and physical activity counter.
Strengthening the Zoetermeer Sports Desk.
For many years, the Sportloket has been a source of questions and support for sports providers in Zoetermeer. Sports providers can come here for advice and support in areas such as membership recruitment, volunteer policy, administrative issues, subsidies and finances. Thanks to the signing of this covenant, the Zoetermeer Sports Desk is now also officially affiliated with the national coordination of NOC*NSF. This offers new opportunities for knowledge sharing and cooperation, further expanding the services provided to local sports providers.
Alderman Ronald Weerwag (sports), sees the signing as an important milestone: "This collaboration opens the door to even more expertise and opportunities for our sports providers. The Sportloket can respond even better to the needs of clubs and offer tailored support. By working more closely with national parties, we as a municipality can continue to provide optimal support to our sports providers."
Knowledge sharing and collaboration
The covenant ensures that sports providers in Zoetermeer benefit not only locally but also nationally from the latest insights and developments. Thanks to the cooperation with NOC*NSF, Rabobank and sports associations, a broad network is created in which knowledge and resources are shared. This ensures more efficient club support, targeted referrals and increased clout within the sports sector.
The Sportloket is a central contact point and coordinator for associations and fits seamlessly with the national ambitions of NOC*NSF to make sport more accessible and sustainable. Zoetermeer thus proves that it knows how to connect locally with national developments and translate them into concrete support for its associations.
