Direct Duidelijk (Clear Writing)
Directly Duidelijk is a government approach that helps organizations, such as a municipality, for example, use clear language. So that everyone understands it. For example, clear language has to do with structure, word usage and sentence length.
In Zoetermeer, we have already taken steps in recent years. For example, we are rewriting letters. Starting in 2025, we also test whether the letters we rewrite are indeed understandable to residents through our reader panel. We also check whether the texts on our website are understandable. For example, we make sentences shorter and, whenever possible, use pictures, photos or drawings to clarify texts.
