We do this together

To make New Year's Eve as safe as possible, we are carrying out several actions:

Prior to New Year's Eve

  • Team Enforcement and police check for flammable items lying around on the street. Many Zoetermeerders help out, including the neighborhood prevention teams of Neighborhood and Officer Together (WAS).
  • The municipality removes flammable items in the city in consultation with the police and fire department.
  • The municipality will close all underground waste containers on Dec. 31 from 4 p.m. until 6 a.m. New Year's Day.
  • The 2 municipal parking garages on Osylaan and under the CKC will be closed from Dec. 31, 7 p.m. to New Year's Day, 9 a.m.
  • Trash cans will be closed throughout Zoetermeer to prevent fireworks damage.

During New Year's Eve

  • Police are doing extra surveillance to make New Year's Eve as safe as possible.
  • Violence against emergency workers will not be tolerated.
  • The police take strict action against vandalism and violence. We also ask you to keep an eye out. Do you see anything suspicious? Call the police: 0900-8844.
  • The fire department is on standby with extra people to respond quickly in case of emergencies.
  • The municipality is deploying additional security in places with above-average nuisances.
  • Do you see anything suspicious? Alert the police quickly at 0900-8844.
