Festive opening of dog run field in Noordhove

Wednesday, May 7, the dog run field in Noordhove was festively opened by neighborhood alderman Jan Iedema.

Through the initiative 'refurbish piece of Zoetermeer', 6 requests have been received from different residents who would all like to see the dog run field in Noordhove refurbished. The dog owners were missing some play elements for the dogs. This we have now added. These include a buried sewer pipe that the dogs can run through but also play over the hill. Sla-om bollards have been installed and tree trunks placed for the dogs to play with. The fencing around the dog field has been (partially) replaced; this will last for years to come. When the fencing was replaced, the entrance gates were redesigned. There is now a so-called sluice gate which allows the dogs and their owners to enter the field safely and prevents other dogs from escaping.

There were also some wishes regarding the owners. The dog-walking field is a place where many social contacts are made and many people meet, sometimes on a daily basis. We placed a nice picnic table on the field for this purpose and moved the current benches in consultation with the users.
