Festive opening of dog walking area in Noordhove
On Wednesday, May 7, the dog walking area in Noordhove was festively opened by district councilor Jan Iedema.
Through the initiative 'renovating a part of Zoetermeer', 6 requests were received from various residents who all wanted to see the dog exercise field in Noordhove renovated. The dog owners were missing some play elements for the dogs. We have now added these. Think of a buried sewer pipe through which the dogs can run but also play over the mountain. Turn-around posts have been installed and tree trunks have been placed for the dogs to play with. The fencing around the dog field has been (partly) replaced, this can last for years to come. When replacing the fencing, the access gates were redesigned. A so-called lock gate has now been installed so that the dogs and their owners can safely enter the field and the other dogs cannot simply escape.
There were also some wishes regarding the owners. The dog exercise field is a place where many social contacts are made and many people sometimes meet each other daily. We have placed a nice picnic table on the field for this and moved the current benches in consultation with the users.
