Film screening - 80 years of freedom
Based on many testimonies, award-winning filmmaker Sandra Beerends brings to life the neshomme, the soul, of Jewish Amsterdam in a compelling and moving montage of richly varied archival material from the interwar period.
In addition, the film tells the story of Johan Zuiderwijk, living in Bezuidenhout, The Hague, who forms a resistance group while the Germans place V2 rockets in the Haagse Bos. The planned British bombing leads to a tragic mistake on March 3, 1945.
