Update December 31, 2022 - A12 is open again
The A12 freeway is open again after the bridge section over the A12 was replaced. But work on the bridge is not yet finished. The train and RandstadRail are running, but it is not possible to get on and off at the RandstadRail stop Driemanspolder and NS station Zoetermeer.
Update December 28, 2022 - HTM duo tour
The A12 freeway between Utrecht and The Hague will be completely closed in both directions at Zoetermeer from Tuesday, December 27, 10 p.m. until Saturday morning, December 31, 8 a.m. Due to the closure of the A12 it is expected that it will be very busy with car traffic on the main roads in and around Zoetermeer. The train and RandstadRail services will continue to run during the work on the bridge, but it will not be possible to get on and off at the RandstadRail Driemanspolder stop and NS station Zoetermeer.
Travelers can use the special HTM duo return. This allows two people to travel through the region (there and back) for €5. There are also children's day passes. For € 1.50 a child can travel unlimitedly on HTM's buses and streetcars all day.
Update December 16, 2022 - Relocation of Zoetermeer (Rokkeveen) station bus stop.
It is not possible to get on and off at the RandstadRail stop Driemanspolder and NS station Zoetermeer. The Arriva bus stop Mandelabrug on the A12 has also been taken out of service. Are you traveling to the station by car? Then the advice is to park at Lansingerland-Zoetermeer station and take the train or RandstadRail there. There is ample parking on both sides of this station. Parking is limited at Zoetermeer-Oost station.
Modified R-net line 170 stop at Zoetermeer station
Due to work on the Nelson Mandela Bridge, the bus stop of R-net line 170 at Zoetermeer station in Rokkeveen has been moved to the Mahatma Gandhisingel from Monday, December 19. The duration of this change is still unknown. The map below shows where the temporary bus stops are.
R-net line 455 and city bus 71 temporarily not stopping at Zoetermeer station
R-net line 455 and city bus 71 will temporarily not stop at Zoetermeer Station starting Monday, December 19, due to work on the Nelson Mandela Bridge. Line 455 will run a modified route via Houtsingel and Albert Schweitzersingel. Line 455 temporarily stops at the Houtsingel stop instead of Zoetermeer station. The duration of this change is still unknown. The map below shows where the temporary bus stop is.
As it stands now, trains and RandstadRail will continue to run as usual during the work on the bridge. Should it nevertheless be necessary to stop them for a short time, this will be shared on this website and that of the carriers.
