International Women's Day in Zoetermeer a great success

On Saturday 8 March 2025, International Women's Day was celebrated in Zoetermeer with a vibrant program full of inspiration, encounters and connections. Under the motto '1000 women, 1000 colours', women from various backgrounds gathered to celebrate this special day together. There was laughter, dancing, relaxation and inspiration - a day on which the power of women in Zoetermeer was fully visible.

A day by and for women

The day was organized for and by the women of Zoetermeer and took place at multiple locations in the city. In Entree the afternoon started with a Ladies Only program full of workshops, conversations and a festive fashion show. In the meantime women enjoyed a pampering day with relaxation and self-care at Eigen Wij. The evening ended with an inspiring program in Buytenwegh about taking control of your own life.

Award Ceremony Zoetermeer Business Woman of the Year

One of the highlights of the day was the festive presentation of the Zoetermeer Business Woman of the Year award. Here, female entrepreneurs who not only excel in business, but also make a valuable contribution to society, were put in the spotlight. Alderman Véronique Frinking opened the award ceremony and emphasized the power of collaboration in the city: "What a wonderful day, filled with encounters, inspiration and solidarity. Today we have seen how powerful the women of Zoetermeer are - whether it concerns entrepreneurship, inspiration or supporting each other. It is great to see that this day was really created by the women of Zoetermeer themselves. This shows what is possible when we join forces."

Zoetermeer Businesswoman Carolien Rip van Silvester children's and youth books received the award 'Zoetermeer Businesswoman of the year 2024' from Ingeborg ter Laak. The jury praised her enormous commitment to promoting reading among children and her warm, committed approach that makes her bookstore a meeting place where reading pleasure is central.
