Jan Iedema collaborates on music podcast for the elderly

On Friday, Nov. 28, neighborhood alderman Jan Iedema, Arnout Timmerman of Foundation Together Against Loneliness and Joey Koeijvoets of Feel Good radio made a podcast about "memories. Using the alderman's music list, they talked about the Gouwe Ouwen in the studio in Rijswijk.

"Music is a powerful tool for evoking memories and feelings. Many people recognize themselves in certain musical numbers. Music works to connect," the alderman said.

Radio and social media are an important means of reaching many people. Pop music from the 60's and 70's appeals to many people, especially seniors. Therefore, for many people, 60's 70's Feel Good is a friend in the home. 24 hours a day you hear the music and relevant local information about, among other things, activities of welfare organizations and neighborhood initiatives in the neighborhood.

Jan Iedema, who has frequently presented radio programs in the past, was enthusiastic about the concept. "Fighting loneliness is an important topic for Zoetermeer," he said. Several podcasts will therefore be put together by the trio in the coming months.
