Christmas afternoon brings Buytenwegh together

On Saturday afternoon, December 14, the Buytenwegh shopping center was transformed into an atmospheric Christmas square. Residents were welcomed with hot chocolate and a festively lit Christmas tree, in which they could hang their Christmas wishes. Kunst en Vriendschap provided the musical atmosphere. Stalls full of trinkets, treats and toys - provided by entrepreneurs and the toy bank - completed the atmosphere. For the children, Yunis Childcare organized a creative craft activity.

Those who gave others a warm heart with their Christmas wishes were surprised on Wednesday, Dec. 18, with a lunch at the Dorpsstraat and a nice bunch of flowers afterwards. Christmas is celebrated together, with a little extra for those who could desperately need it.

District alderman Bouke Velzen: "It was great to see how the Christmas celebration in shopping center Buytenwegh brought the residents together. Thanks to the efforts of the shopping association, this was a warm and festive moment for everyone in the neighborhood. Together we make the holidays extra special!"
