Waste policy plan Zoetermeer, more aware

In 2024, Zoetermeer residents will get to work coming up with their own ideas for the city's waste policy. More information: www.zoetermeer.nl/burgerberaad

In 2016, a Zoetermeer resident produced an average of 229 kilograms of fine household residual waste per year. With this, the municipality of Zoetermeer scores worse than the national average. By focusing on raising awareness, facilitating waste separation and giving more freedom of choice, Zoetermeer residents will be encouraged to separate (more) waste without structurally compromising customer satisfaction or causing an increase in waste disposal fees. This approach should achieve a reduction of 10 kilograms of residual waste per resident per year, or 1250 tons, in two years.
