Model table with Klimhuis Oosterheem, placement remaining part

The Scale Model Table with Climbing House is located next to the street Naardermeer, in the playing meadow. The model consists of the Heemburg neighborhood with space for the model of Waterzicht. The maquette part of Waterzicht could only be placed after the neighborhood was fully realized. Artist Alphons ter Avest will place the remaining part on July 1 and will also immediately perform maintenance on the other maquette tables.

The creation of the artwork

In late 2014, residents of Oosterheem received a call for input for a new art project in their neighborhood. Together with the municipality of Zoetermeer, it was decided what this artwork should look like and where it would be located. In May 2015, residents were able to comment on 3 different sketch ideas. A majority of neighborhood residents found the Maquette Tables the most appealing design. In 2016, the first Maquette Tables were installed.

The Scale Model Table with Climbing House is part of a special artwork consisting of 4 'Scale Model Tables' located in different neighborhoods of Oosterheem. Commissioned by the municipality and in consultation with the neighborhood residents, artist Alphons ter Avest designed this artwork. The basis is the maquette of Oosterheem, which stood in the Oosterheem project office for many years during the construction of the neighborhood. The artist divided the maquette into 4 different areas. Each table is a striking landmark where residents can find their own house, in miniature, on it.
