Marseille trail officially opened

Work on the Marseille Trail is complete. The central park project is thus taking more and more shape. Alderman Jan Iedema officially opened the Marseillepad on Saturday, March 22. This marks the completion of the first phase of refurbishing the park.

Contractor AW Infrabouw was on hand at the commodity market in the morning to answer questions from local residents and visitors. There were also walks along the central park project work.

Work on the central park project will continue in the coming period:

  • Nicolas Square and the Nicolas Forest are being refurbished.
  • At the Dobbeplas there will be 4 new islands: 3 play islands and one nature island. There will also be a deck around the lake, which will allow visitors to walk around the lake.
  • The Park Meadow will be enlarged for more sports and games, among other things. And there will be new bicycle and pedestrian paths.

The developments can be followed through the website: downtown-zoetermeer.nl/projects/obbegebied and through the BouwApp: debouw.app/projects/realisatie-centraal-park.
