Marseillepad officially opened

The work on the Marseillepad is finished. The central park project is taking shape. Alderman Jan Iedema officially opened the Marseillepad on Saturday 22 March. This marks the completion of the first phase of the renovation of the park.

Contractor AW Infrabouw was present at the market in the morning to answer questions from residents and visitors. There were also walks along the work on the central park project.

The work on the central park project will continue in the coming period:

  • The Nicolaasplein and the Nicolaasbos are being renovated.
  • At the Dobbeplas there will be 4 new islands: 3 play islands and one nature island. There will also be a jetty around the lake, so that visitors can walk around the lake.
  • The Parkweide will be expanded for more sports and games, among other things. And new cycle and footpaths will be added.
