Busy bee Marsha is one to cherish

Not for nothing is Marsha a Pearl of Meerzicht. With cooking she connects people with each other. Marsha was brought up on good food and cooking. Her mother always cooked, and not only for her family. Anyone who was having a hard time could count on the cooking skills of Marsha's mother. Little Marsha often helped out and learned to cook at a young age. So the passion for cooking is not foreign to her.

Getting up and moving on again

After the death of her mother, Marsha was determined to continue cooking for others. The loss of her mother was great and through multiple problems and also losing her son, Marsha lost her footing. She overcame a difficult period by believing in herself and those around her. Meerzicht is her neighborhood, even though she no longer lives there. She loves coming there and does an awful lot. She cooks several times a week at the Piëzo foundation, gives dance and cooking lessons at schools and was a volunteer at Verloot je Zooitje. The litter project that this summer moved many children to collect litter. She is a go-getter and worked with local business owners to make sure there was something to eat and drink for the kids as well. In addition to all her projects, Marsha has had a Facebook page for years where she shares her dishes. That way she finds connection with her followers.

Neighborhood Soup

In October, she started Neighborhood Soup. Once a month she makes soup at foundation Eigen Wij. Everyone is welcome to come and eat soup there for a small price. By eating she comes in contact with many people. Often people who, just like her, have difficulty making ends meet. She likes to help people. Even if that means she sometimes sells herself short.

Own foundation

Marsha has been an active volunteer for many years and that is where her heart lies. She would love to set up her own foundation, but complicated regulations and her benefits make it difficult for her to convert her volunteer work to a foundation. She is stuck in a jungle of rules and restrictions. She has to apply for a "real" job again. But work she has actually been doing for a long time. It is difficult for Marsha to find the right path. She is independent and would like to keep her freedom. Her dream is to set up a foundation so she can help people with her own work and continue to connect through cooking and eating.

The story behind the man

By watching and listening to Marsha, you can see that something other than just getting someone back on a payroll is needed. This fanatical, nice crazy woman who has so many ideas and loves to become independent just needs a little advice in the right direction. Then someone like her can remain valuable to a neighborhood and be put in her power and thereby help a lot of people.

Marsha is a super positive and upbeat person and sees opportunities to make her dreams come true. An entrepreneur or person who recognizes herself in Marsha's story and would like to help her get started would be great.
