Official start of placement 81 flex homes Ruimtebaan Zoetermeer
The first modules of a total of 81 flex housing units on the Ruimtebaan have been placed. By tightening the bolts of the first housing units, Vidomes director Aniel Ramawadh, alderman Ronald Weerwag and Bas de Haan, director of Gapph Modular, marked this unique moment.
The Ruimtebaan will feature 51 studios and 30 two-bedroom apartments, a pavilion and an indoor bicycle storage facility. The flex homes will be occupied starting next summer. Vidomes has not built flex housing before. For Aniel Ramawadh, this is therefore a special moment: "We are proud of our first flex homes. In a relatively short period of time we are going to add extra homes to the existing stock. This is also much needed in these times of housing shortage. Housing seekers can stay here temporarily, for a period of 15 years, in an affordable and sustainable flex housing."
Cooperation between Vidomes and the municipality of Zoetermeer
Last November, the first pile went into the ground. The municipality - as landowner - prepared the site for construction. Vidomes is the client and the combination Gapph Modular and DMT Modular guarantee the construction and placement of the homes. The cooperation between these parties is important to get this kind of initiative off the ground. Ronald Weerwag agrees: "As a municipality, we want to take a leading position when it comes to new and innovative forms of housing. These flex homes fit in well with this. More importantly for our house seekers: we can offer a place in the short term to residents who are in urgent need of housing."
Target group and care parties
The housing will be rented primarily to young adults. The new tenants are a diverse mix of Zoetermeer young adults, young status holders, residents receiving care support and people in urgent need of housing. Care providers Fonteynenburg and Limor will supervise some of the residents.
Positive consultation with local residents
There was regular coordination with local residents from the beginning, to involve them as much as possible in the plans. For example, Vidomes explained the project and local residents were able to contribute ideas about the design. The local residents are positive about the project and their new neighbors. This will certainly contribute to the pleasant living together in this neighborhood.
Flex housing: factory built and connected on site
On the Ruimtebaan , 51 studios and 30 two-bedroom homes will be installed, spread over four residential buildings of 2 and 3 floors.
