Piëzo, STERK Sports and SVO Buytenpark winners of 'Get Zoetermeer moving'
Piëzo, STERK Sports and SVO Buytenpark presented the best ideas to get even more Zoetermeerders moving. 'Get Zoetermeer moving' is an initiative of the Local Sports Agreement. Sports providers, associations and other organizations could pitch their idea for a chance to win a prize, consisting of an incentive contribution of up to €5,000 to realize their idea and an extensive PR package to promote the idea.
"Sports is more than just exercise," said Linda van Etten, Coordinator Zoetermeer Sports Agreement. "It contributes to togetherness, personal development and fun. Everyone should have the opportunity to exercise and enjoy sports. That is why we have invited organizations to come up with a good idea and get the inhabitants of Zoetermeer moving even more."
The best ideas
On Thursday, September 26, 9 nominees were allowed to pitch their stories to a jury consisting of Dini Bouwmeester of Tennis and Padel Association Seghwaert (TPVS) and Gabriëlle Bosman, Patricia van den Kieboom and Debbie Schriemer of the Sports and Leisure Department of the Municipality of Zoetermeer. The jury selected 3 lucky winners. These 3 ideas have a strong focus on getting residents who are not yet actively involved in sports or exercise into action.
Alderman Ronald Weerwag (sports) was honored to present the prizes: "I am impressed by these great initiatives with which we can get even more Zoetermeerders moving. Sport connects us, inspires us and contributes to a healthy lifestyle. With this we are taking another great step towards an active and engaged community!"
Sports agreement Zoetermeer
Sport and exercise are essential for a healthy and connected society. With the Zoetermeer Sports Agreement, the Regiegroep, consisting of representatives from education, health care, sports and the municipality of Zoetermeer, wants to optimally utilize the power of sports and support new initiatives that contribute to the physical and mental health of the residents of Zoetermeer. The Sports Agreement focuses on stimulating sports and exercise participation among all Zoetermeerders, regardless of age, background or sports experience. By supporting new ideas and projects in the start-up phase, the agreement offers room for creativity and innovation within the local sports and exercise world.
