Plans for acute care center are final

To keep emergency care available to Zoetermeer residents in the future, an innovative plan emerged for a joint acute care center. On October 1, HagaZiekenhuis, EerstelijnsZorgZoetermeer and Fundis made the final decision. The center will be built and will be called Spoedzorg Zoetermeer. Spoedzorg Zoetermeer is expected to open its doors in mid-2026.

In the new organization, general practitioners, emergency room (ED) physicians, ED nurses, triagists and staff from the service pharmacy, regional transfer point and multi-purpose beds will soon form one team with one common work process.

Anyone who needs urgent care will now report to one central location. This may be physically, but also by phone or digitally, via one phone number or one website. After a central assessment of the complaints by the triagist, the appropriate healthcare provider is immediately assigned. No longer does a patient with acute health complaints always have to be seen first at the GP Emergency Department (HAP) before they can receive urgent medical specialist care. As a result, patients can count on faster and efficient care.

More will be known about the opening of Spoedzorg Zoetermeer in the coming months.
