New construction Roggeakker
Roggeakker is a redevelopment site of housing corporation Vidomes. In 2019, Vidomes demolished the complex of 97 social housing units on Roggeakker. The homes were outdated and no longer met housing requirements. The former tenants of the complex moved out and the demolition of the complex was fully completed in early 2022. Vidomes now plans to rebuild new social housing on this site. The municipality is cooperating with this, checking whether the plan fits within the zoning of the area and is responsible for the design of the public space.
In recent months, the spatial and financial feasibility of the plan has been studied. In addition, the municipality has been working on a Plan Implementation Framework (PUK), which will be submitted to the City Council in early 2025. The PUK establishes the guidelines for the development of the area. The plans for the development have also been fleshed out. For this purpose, input was taken from 2 participation meetings organized earlier by the municipality.
Third participation meeting
On Tuesday, Nov. 12, the municipality is jointly organizing a third participation meeting with housing corporation Vidomes and architectural firm HP Architects. During the evening, in addition to the PUK, a sketch building plan and a sketch design for the public space will be presented
After the City Council adopts the PUK, work will begin on further development of the building plan and the public space design plan. It is expected that construction can then begin during 2026, and the homes will be delivered during 2027 and 2028.
