Nature garden walk on Sunday, January 25, 2026

This Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., a guide will be ready to take you on a walk through the Nature Garden. For those who have not been there before, this is a great opportunity to get to know this special, somewhat hidden place in Westerpark.

You will discover landscapes that were characteristic of this area in the past and learn about the flora and fauna that live and grow there. You will walk through an osier bed—a willow plantation—along a peat lake and a small polder with meadow mills. During the walk, the guide will tell you about the special features, including the Nature Garden's own water system, with a two-meter difference in water level and weirs.

The tour lasts over an hour and is free of charge. The walk starts at 2 p.m. at the picnic table opposite the site where the new Westpunt is under construction. (Entrance to Westerpark via Turfberg at no. 1; follow the signs to Natuurtuin / Westpunt).

The tour is less suitable for wheelchair users. They can visit part of the Nature Garden via a separate entrance. Dogs are not allowed in the garden.
