Nature Garden round-trip walk on Sunday, May 25
You are welcome to join one of our guides for a walk through the Nature Garden on Sunday, May 25.
Not only will you walk past beautiful spots, but you will also be explained what is in bloom now, what is alive and why the landscapes look the way they do.
The Nature Garden is now an oasis of colors, changing from week to week. The greater coltsfoot lives up to its name and now has a majestic presence near the mills. Red-purple orchids bloom at the bottom of the dikes just after the drawbridge. The insect field turns white. And somewhat hidden in the shade, large glowwort blooms a beautiful purple. In the Netherlands, greater glowwort is rare. This is another reason why a visit to the Nature Garden is well worth it.
The tour lasts over an hour; participation is free. The walk begins at 2 p.m. at the picnic table opposite where West Point stood (Westerpark entrance via Turfberg at No. 1, on the signs follow towards Nature Garden/West Point).
The tour is less suitable for wheelchair users. They can visit part of the Nature Garden through a separate entrance.
Dogs are not allowed in the garden.
