Atmospheric Winter Wonderland Oosterheem brings neighborhood residents together

On December 11, neighborhood residents of Oosterheem enjoyed the very first edition of Winter Wonderland. Social Broker, Liza Soffner, and her enthusiastic team of volunteers welcomed neighborhood residents with open arms at Zanzibarplein 5. Thanks to a contribution from Veronique Frinking's neighborhood council budget, children and their parents were able to participate in fun activities, meet other people and make new friends. This initiative contributes to togetherness and strengthens the feeling of being welcome in the neighborhood. This is an important priority for the Oosterheem neighborhood for the alderman.

Connect and discover

Adults took an inspiring walk through Oosterheem under the guidance of Simone Langeveld of Architectuurpunt Zoetermeer. Along the way at city farm de Weidemolen , they enjoyed coffee with delicious apple pie baked especially for them by Teamwerk employees.

Preschoolers and their parents could listen to an atmospheric story by Petra Havenaar of the Book Cycle. And children could craft a beautiful lantern under the guidance of volunteer Anneke. District councilor Frinking welcomed everyone personally. And invited them to come more often to the location of inZet for nice meetings and also when there are requests for help. Then parents and children left with their homemade lanterns to the Slotjestoren and to De Mossel to sing Christmas songs together.

Warmth and creativity

At inZet at Zanzibarplein , everyone could enjoy non-alcoholic mulled wine with freshly picked herbs and vegan pea soup by Anja Cooking for Life. You could also have your picture taken with the winter queen of Scylla productions. Neighborhood resident Leila from Bellyart4you, Ruben and Louisa gave Christmas ball crafting and canvas painting workshops. And there was also room to play games or write a nice Christmas card for area residents who could use some attention.

Musical meeting for young people

Young people were able to participate in a musical workshop by Janice Liqui Jung of "Be Fearless Music Academy. They started by listening to each other's favorite artists. And based on that, they made their own beat. In this way they got to know each other better in a musical way. They liked it so much that they would like to continue.
