A sounding is a method of investigation to obtain information about the structure and characteristics of soil.
By making a CPT, it is possible to calculate how many and where piles and foundation elements should be placed and what the length of piles should be. When submitting an application for an environmental permit for the activity of building, a sounding survey is required in many cases.
