Stadshart Zoetermeer is flourishing!

Thanks to the placement of hanging baskets, flower boxes and flower pyramids, Zoetermeer's Stadshart has been given even more color and natural appeal. The planting is an initiative of the Zoetermeer municipality in close cooperation with entrepreneurs of the Stadshart. Councilwoman Marijke van der Meer drives past the bright flower boxes with satisfaction: "With some extra greenery and beautiful flowers, we are making the Stadshart cozier, so that it is even more fun to come shopping or to meet up with friends for a cup of coffee or a bite to eat."

With the greening, the municipality of Zoetermeer wants to improve the attractiveness of the Stadshart. It involves more than 75 hanging baskets and 13 flower pyramids (and flower bowls), filled with various flowers and plants. The choice of species was made with biodiversity and ease of maintenance in mind. The plantings remain attractive throughout the year and do not require too much maintenance. After the summer, 22 more flower boxes will be installed.

The greening began several months ago by collecting wishes from local business owners. The business owners helped identify the most suitable locations so that they would best contribute to a pleasant shopping and living environment.

The greening City Heart is ready for a sunny summer. In the coming months, the municipality will ensure that the Stadshart continues to maintain its fresh and blooming appearance. With the completion of the greening, the municipality invites all residents and visitors to check out the renewed green spaces in the Stadshart and enjoy the revived Stadshart.
