Grant social initiatives through Zoetermeer 2040 Fund

The municipality of Zoetermeer is making available a new subsidy scheme through which residents and organizations can receive support for innovative initiatives. The aim is to use the Zoetermeer 2040 Fund to stimulate projects that contribute to a strong, sustainable and innovative city.

Grants for community initiatives

The grant scheme is aimed at new initiatives that have not previously received grants. A maximum of €10,000 can be requested per project. A total of €100,000 is available each year for the next 3 years, giving a total budget of €300,000.

The grant is for initiatives that contribute to one or more of the following themes:

  • Zoetermeer is my home: For example, projects that increase diversity in neighborhoods or improve public areas.
  • Sustainable city among parks: Initiatives that enhance nature, health or sustainability in the city.
  • Palette of neighborhoods and districts: Plans that strengthen the identity of neighborhoods or reduce social and economic disparities.
  • Continuous development opportunities for all: Activities focused on personal growth and development, especially for youth.
  • City of applied innovation: Projects that introduce technological or social innovation in collaboration with partners.
  • Zoetermeer region city: Initiatives to improve cooperation and accessibility with surrounding cities.

Alderman Blansjaar (Participation) is looking forward to initiatives from the city: "With the subsidy scheme Social Initiatives Zoetermeer 2040 we give residents and organizations the opportunity to realize their plans for our city. These initiatives make our neighborhoods more beautiful, sustainable and social. This is how we build together a future-proof city where everyone feels at home."

The grant is available for new initiatives that have a minimum of 3 years of impact and visible results within 5 years at the latest.
