Successful Day of Palenstein 2025

This year's Day of Palenstein attracted an extra large number of visitors. Many children and parents from elementary school De Kasteeltuin and De Achtsprong, KDV Junis and Gro-Up lingered in the schoolyards.

There they could play sports with a stamp card, play games and get a cotton candy or fruit skewer. Healthy snacks and drinks were sponsored by supermarket Dirk and prepared by volunteers from Piëzo. Neighborhood sports coaches and children from the sports coaching program supervised the sports activities at the Van Duvenvoordepad. In the schoolyard, DJ Sam, guitarist Kees and Scylla Theater Bingo entertained the audience. There were also "the story table" of Zoetermeer Library, stalls of inZet/Piëzo and Stedelink, art could be made with Wijck, and you could participate in the Positivitree of Gro-Up Buurtwerk.

"Better a good neighbor than a distant friend," and then you have to (get to) know your neighbors," said neighborhood director Sandra Rispens. "The Day of Palenstein connects neighborhood residents and neighborhood parties. Eating together, making art, playing sports and music with each other leads to new connections between people. That's why we celebrate this day every year."
