Temporary traffic measures in the city center of Zoetermeer
Municipality of Zoetermeer test from Monday 2 June 7:00 to Monday 30 June 7:00 2 temporary traffic measures in the city centre. The municipality of Zoetermeer is working on a pleasant city centre with more space for pedestrians, cyclists and a pleasant and safe living environment. Based on the Vision City Centre 2040 and the recently adopted Mobility Strategy City Centre 2040, the municipality wants to gradually implement the changes in the city centre in the coming years. This is always carefully investigated in advance. This test is part of the goal to make the city centre more attractive, safer and more accessible for pedestrians and cyclists.
Traffic measure 1: Closure of Bovenlangs between JL van Rijweg and Nederlandlaan/Amsterdamstraat
- Between the entrance and exit of parking garage P2 and the zebra crossing, the road will be closed off with fences. The diversion route will be indicated on traffic signs.
- The road remains accessible for cyclists and pedestrians and will remain so in the future.
- Cars can reach parking garage P2 Bovenlangs via the JL van Rijweg and Engelandlaan .
- From Nederlandlaan/Amsterdamstraat you can drive onto Bovenlangs until the closure. Storage areas of homes are still accessible. Shops also remain accessible for loading and unloading.
- Parking garage P2 Onderlangs remains accessible via Nederlandlaan.
Traffic measure 2: Temporary one-way traffic on the Duitslandlaan
- The Duitslandlaan is temporarily one-way traffic.
- Cars can only drive from Denemarkenlaan towards Luxemburglaan.
- Entering the parking garage P9, Berlijnstraat and Theaterplein is only possible via Denemarkenlaan. Exiting is only possible towards Luxemburglaan.
- The road remains accessible for cyclists and pedestrians and will remain so in the future.
Research into traffic flow and accessibility
With these temporary traffic measures, the municipality of Zoetermeer is testing the effects on traffic flow and accessibility of the city centre. Residents and visitors are requested to take the changed traffic situation into account and to follow the indicated diversions.
