Extract of personal data BRP

An extract from the Personal Records Database (BRP) is an overview of your personal data. You can only request the extract of personal data online with DigiD.

Notice! There is a difference between an extract BRP and an extract (transcript) of the Civil Registry.

An extract from the BRP (Basic Registration of Persons)

  • This contains personal data such as name, address and place of residence.
  • Please apply at the municipality where you are registered.
  • Also called 'extract of population register.'
  • Is requested, for example, by a housing association.

An extract (deed or copy) from the Civil Registry

  • This contains information about any of the following events: birth, death, marriage, partnership, divorce.
  • Please apply to the municipality where the event took place.
  • More information and applications via Civil registry certificate or copy .

Extract of parental authority

Do you need an extract showing parental authority? You can request this extract from the Register of Custody.

Need an extract for travel with children?

Do you need the extract for travelling with minor children? Then sometimes an international BRP authority extract is also requested. You cannot request this extract via the Authority Register, but you must request it at the counter at the municipality (call 14 079 for this). 

Who can request an extract?

The extract can be requested by:

  • the person himself
  • parent, guardian or carer of a child living at the same address
  • spouse or partner (registered) living at the same address
  • curator for persons under guardianship

Any adult may authorise another to request an extract. The authorised person must be of age.

You can request various extracts. Below you can see which data is on which extract. You can download an example of each extract (in pdf).

Apply

You request the extract online after which you will receive the extract by mail. You will not receive the extract digitally.

Extract from the Municipal Personal Records Database (BRP)

Please note! In some cases it is not possible to request the extract online (for example if your child is not registered at the same address). This will become clear when you fill in the online form. Is this the case for you? Then you must make an appointment to visit the counter of the Publieksplein. Then call 14 079 for an appointment.

How long will it take?

  • The extract will be sent by post no later than the next working day.
  • Please note! It depends on PostNL when you will receive the extract. We have no influence on this. PostNL delivers letters within the Netherlands from Tuesday to Saturday. For more information about mail delivery, visit the PostNL website .
  • You can take an extract requested at the counter immediatly after payment.
