Online driver's licenseYou cannot pick up a driver's license applied for online through the RDW from Nov. 28 to Dec. 1. |
The municipality's civil registry creates and preserves official documents (deeds) of important events:
- birth
- marriage
- registered partnership
- divorce (apply for divorce in the municipality where you were married)
- death
You request a copy of a deed from the municipality where the event took place. Do you need an international deed? You can indicate this in the application.
Examples:
- You live in Zoetermeer > your child was born in Leiden > you must then request the birth certificate from the municipality of Leiden.
- You live in Zoetermeer > you are divorced > you are married in The Hague > you must then request the divorce certificate in the municipality of The Hague.
Attention! There is a difference between an extract (transcript) of civil status and an extract BRP (Basic Registration of Persons). Ask the requesting authority in advance which document you need.
