The municipality regularly sells or leases its own land, buildings or spaces in buildings, for example to social organizations. Sometimes it may also involve issuing land on a long lease. The term we use for this is "issue of real estate. When the municipality wants to issue real estate it announces this on this page and in the Municipal Gazette.

Everyone gets a chance, unless...

Municipalities are obliged to give anyone who might be interested in the real estate to be issued by the municipality the opportunity to qualify. The Supreme Court explained in outline how the municipality must do this in a ruling on November 26, 2021, the so-called Didam ruling. The municipality has fleshed this out further in the Policy Framework for Issuing Real Estate. The municipality must make it clear if it intends to issue its own real estate. We do this by placing an announcement on this page and in the Municipal Gazette. The municipality must also show the manner in which a buyer or tenant is chosen. This must be done on the basis of objective, testable and reasonable conditions.

Under the heading "Publications," you will find these notices. In cases where the municipality uses a broker, you will also find a link to the broker's website in there.

One party is eligible

Occasionally, the municipality may find that only one particular lot qualifies for an issue. In that case, the municipality announces the issuance on this page and in the Municipal Gazette. Along with an explanation of why only that one party qualifies. These announcements can also be found under the heading 'Publications'.
