Have you seen the poster below hanging at one of the bus stops in Zoetermeer? With this campaign, the municipality wants to make young people aware of the choices they make when they feel unsafe or threatened. A weapon is not the solution. They can be banned from the area, fined or otherwise punished. That has consequences for their future. Research shows that young people with a weapon in their pocket actually feel less safe. They are also more likely to be victims of violence.
