Fireworks-free zones
The municipality is once again designating fireworks-free zones during the New Year's celebrations. The aim is to reduce the nuisance experienced by residents from fireworks being set off.
It is prohibited to set off fireworks within the fireworks-free zones. The fireworks ban applies from December 31, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. until January 1, 2026, at 2:00 a.m. Outside these times, setting off fireworks is prohibited in any case. In the period leading up to New Year's Eve, the municipality will place warning signs at various locations in these areas.

- the Balij Forest
- the Buytenwegh neighborhood park and the Buytenpark (up to SnowWorld, including the sports fields)
- De Leyens Indoor Park
- Mayor Hoekstra Park
- the Aldo van Eyck Park
- the East Quay
- the Market and surrounding area (Marseillepad, the rear of Londenstraat, Zuidwaarts, Stadhuisplein, and Oostwaarts)
- the area surrounding SilverDome
