Fireworks-free zones
The municipality is again designating fireworks-free zones at New Year's eve. The municipality wants to reduce the nuisance residents experience from setting off fireworks.
Within the fireworks-free zones, it is prohibited to set off fireworks. The fireworks ban applies from December 31, 2024 6 p.m. to January 1, 2025 2 a.m. Outside these times, setting off fireworks is prohibited anyway. In the period before New Year's eve, the municipality posts warning signs at various locations in these areas.

- the Burgemeester Hoekstrapark
- the Aldo van Eyck Park
- the Oostkade
- the Market and its surroundings (the Marseillepad, the back of Londenstraat, the Zuidwaarts, Stadhuisplein and the Oostwaarts)
- the grounds around the SilverDome
