Welcome new college and high school students

Zoetermeer is the place to study for some 160 first-year hbo and mbo students of De Haagse Hogeschool and mboRijnland. The students - who will be studying in the Dutch Innovation Park - concluded their introduction week with a program in downtown Zoetermeer.

On Friday, Sept. 6, the students concluded their introduction week with a visit to the CKC&Partners where they were welcomed by Mayor Michel Bezuijen and Alderman Marijke van der Meer (education). "This year we welcome to our city all first-year hbo and mbo students who will study in the Dutch Innovation Factory," Mayor Bezuijen said. "The Haagse Hogeschool and mboRijnland offer innovative IT courses that are an excellent fit for an IT city like Zoetermeer. The introduction week is also a great opportunity to get acquainted with the city in which you will be studying."

The large group of first-year students - recognizable by the blue T-shirts - walked a tour of the city center past various local restaurants and went gaming at the National Video Game Museum. The day ended festively at Café Spetters with the Zoetermeer Quiz, organized by Bureau Citymarketing.

Studying in the Dutch Innovation Park

At the Dutch Innovation Factory, the new students will be studying HBO-ICT or Applied Data Science & Artificial Intelligence at De Haagse Hogeschool or the mboRijnland courses Expert IT systems and devices Security or Nursing, which focus on healthcare innovation. Studies with excellent future prospects; IT talent is in high demand in the labor market. Zoetermeer offers students a special educational concept: on this campus, in the midst of innovative companies and an active community, students have direct contact with the business world and learn, among other things, from practical assignments by entrepreneurs.
